International Education Support Office holds Wellbeing Workshop

December 10, 2024

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, 17 students and staff attended the “Understanding and Maintaining Psychological Wellbeing Workshop” held by the International Education Support Office.

Many TUFS students will study abroad or will experience living alone for the first time during their time at university. Living in a different country with different customs and languages is not easy. The goal of this workshop was to share exercises and strategies for how to manage feelings of anxiety and stress, especially for Japanese and international students currently living away from home or preparing to study abroad.

We invited Dr. Udeni Appuhamilage to hold this workshop using her wealth of experience as an academic, researcher and a clinical practitioner with more than a decade of experience in conducting mental health and wellbeing related training and workshops for diverse groups. Dr. Appuhamilage currently teaches at the Peace and Conflict Studies course (MA) and GLIP undergraduate classes at TUFS.
